Work has begun on a Markwest pipeline cutting across North Beaver County , heading towards Evans City to the soon to be operational Bluestone 2 treatment plant I think. Does anyone know the western terminus for this line? I don't suppose such an undertaking would have begun without a few customers signing on to dump some wet gas into it for the ride to the plant. Question is , where's the dry gas going after stripping the "anes" out of it? I read that Markwest has a 200 rail car shipping capacity for the liquids after they are removed. Markwest is already planning a third treatment plant as well there. Things are moving along , albeit at a slower pace than we would like.
I haven't heard much about it lately, but Columbiana County Port Authority was closing on the sale of a rail road row that runs from Youngstown to the Ohio River near the mouth of Little Beaver Creek. This includes a spur that runs into Darlington. Would make for a great pipeline route to haul ethane to barges, then on to the cracker , I would think. Or even by rail again , although I understand this would require alot of repair first.
Time will tell , but infrastructure seems to be coming that sure as heck ought to spur things along at a quicker pace.
Well lets see: To my knowledge, so far in 2013 they have drilled the Kirkwood well, the Mcdanel well, the CTG well, the Hodgson well, another well i forget the name of. They are just finishing the roberts well pad in Chippewa and there is another PGC well to drill i believe. They have something like 35+ drilling permits approved in the county and they are renewing some of the permits that are expiring. Drilling will gain even more steam in 2014… so will gathering lines etc.
Great I wasn't aware that there are 35 wells permited..are they mostly north of the river?
Most of the permits are for a 2nd or 3rd well on a pad already drilled. For example:
Mcroberts well has one well drilled with 2 more permits to drill
rolling acres well has one well drilled with 1 more permit to drill
and the list goes on.
Yes most, if not all, are N of the river.... mind you this is just information on Chesapeake only. Sorry, I don't keep in touch much with South of the river.... i believe there are a number of permits to drill there as well.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
