Mr. Mcmasters passed away at his home on Hill Road last Wednesday. God be with his Family.
My prayers are with all of his family members..
McMasters Well Plat
Marcellus is only 23' thick in this location. Hence, RRC is drilling to the Rhinestreet Shale.
The Rhinestreet Shale is the same as the West Falls Formation; actually, the West Falls Formation is the sweet spot within the Rhinestreet Shale. It is part of the Upper Devonian Shale.
You can see the thickness of the shales on the DCNR maps:

.Apparently, the shale needs to be a minimum of 50' thick in order to frack it.

Sorry about the error; CHK is drilling the McMasters wells.
The other well is directly below the Rhinestreet McMasters 3H M to the Utica and has been named the McMasters 3H. So, apparently, they run on top of each other underground separated by about 4500ft of rock.
Thank you Todd ! Your information is very much appreciated ! Nancy
So much for the 50' thick minimum!
I just found that the McMichael well was drilled to the Marcellus with a 30' thickness! Good news! I will post on the McMichael Well Discussion.
