Just curious if anybody has seen continued work by Shell at the old Horsehead plant. By the same token, has anybody heard any rumblings as to how things are coming along?

I was at the meeting last night at Central Valley H.S. The vast majority of people were in favor of the project and I don't believe there was much serious opposition to the project. In other words, nothing happened last night that would discourage Shell from moving forwards or that they are unwanted in Beaver County. No matter what you do some people are going to be upset.
In case some here haven't seen this article in the local paper:

You are Invited! Shell Proposed Petrochemical Facility Community Meeting: Community Impacts
Dear neighbor,
As part of the planning and evaluation process for our proposed petrochemical facility in Beaver County, Shell is hosting community meetings on topics of interest to our neighbors. You spoke and we listened.
You are invited to attend the third of these meetings on Thursday, May 28th to discuss what you would experience living, working, traveling or shopping near the facility: noise, view, light and traffic, both during construction and once in operation.
The two identical sessions (afternoon and evening) will include a brief overview of the proposed project, a short presentation on the topics, and then a question-and-answer session featuring a panel of experts from Shell and other organizations.
Please join us!
