Hello Bradford County folks,
Neither here nor there but I read Talisman is going down to 1 rig operating vs 4-5 last spring. Their DEP production numbers do not look as rich as other parts of the conty, plus it looks like they have a lot HBP, so with $2.50 gas maybe that fits.
They and Chesapeake have a monstrous number of wells in NE Bradford, such that both cos would have a large inventory of wells to complete as prices and take-out availability allow. Tell me if I m wrong but PIKE twp has several wells underway and DEP data looks good. We don’t know of other NE data out yet.
The developing theory, partly based on the prolific drilling in NE Brad is that the rock there has more potential than W C Brad, Troy area and surrounds. Though the NW is not expected to be as good as the CORE trough coming from Auburn W SW through S Bradford and covering 1/3rd of so of upper Sullivan.
All FWIW and gleaned from our sources. Acknowledgement - we may be wrong.
As many know, Charles Welles has large land holdings and has an amazing five drilling sites on his lands which are just west of the borough of Wyalusing in Terry Township. All of those sites have been drilled but we lack completion data. Mr. Duffield would know, I think they run Welles 2, then 1, then 3,4,5 coming W to E.
Welles as a last name, how prophetic! We were told the original Welles owned so much land about the turn of the 18C-19C, that he could walk from Elmira to Harrisburg without setting foot on another’s property.
We can confirm that Welles 1 has two producing wells, tied in since August 2011 and producing at high rates, similar to the area’s better wells.
??? Can anyone share if any of the other Welles sites are tied-in yet? Has there been fracing underway this summer?

Welles 2, both wells have been completed and tied in, there are and have been issues with 3,4,and5.
Talisman in Pike Township has planned for several wells near me (Lombardo) and has just fracked Smolko - indeed I believe the planning and unitizing is a HBP effort as many of us have 10 year old leases at very appealing percentages (for the gas companies). They were also in a major effort to tie together pad sites with pipelines.
Both efforts seem to be settled to a crawl at the moment.
They gladly drill but are down to 1 rig I think.
Fracing, completions re only accomplished if they paln to
mkt teh gas. Nit sure the detail but fracked/non-producing wells
take maintainence. fwiw.

lots of pipeline activity in wilmot and terry township, also heard that chesapeake is going to have a
meeting of the lease holders in the near future. can you add anything to that
Yep, there's a Terry twp meeting scheduled for Sept. 13 I think at the Wyalusing high school auditorium, 7 pm to 9 pm.
CHK needs to fill in a big hole (I mean, they need to HBP) along Schaffer's Notch and MArsh road intersection area. They have the permits for the Rainbow site now, which is up off Rouse Rd., don;t know when they plan to start but going by the permits it looks like they are going to make a whopper of a unit and split it N/S to hold a pretty big chunk of territory - probably the north unit will hold what was planned to be the Freed site/unit, which seems to be on hold. That will hbp area around the Haft etc. For anyone who might be interested.
WEll I think it's the 13th. Might be 11th. Don;t remember now as I won;t be here and I threw the letter away. Those things are just lots of fluff anyway so George can run his mouth non stop blah blah blah. Let's put it this way - it's next week!
You hit the nail on the head Oak.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
