I was just wondering if anyone has signed a lease with Adapt Energy.

Adapt Energy Site shows a vertical well in something other than a horizontal shale operation.  did not find much about actual operations as far as wells are concerned.  The site lists two landmen as principal personnel.  On the surface, it could be just another landman group picking up properties for its own account to sell to an operator later at a profit - or possibly working under contract for one of the big operators.  Hard to tell much about it.  One of the pages has links to christians - maybe a dating thing. 

Sam, adapt is working for halcon. they are backing out of leases all over.. sad when they get landowners hopes all up, then just let em down.

It is not unusual to have the back out - and later negotiations after you are worn down.  Get some money on signing for time and trouble

Are you part of a landowner group?  Does your attorney get paid by you or the O&G company?  Was the deal with Adapt already in place when you hired your marketing agent / attorney?  If so, what service were you provided for the fees you paid?  Did you have the opportunity to udnerstand each and every term in the lease, and more importantly were you able to have that lease catered to your particular needs?  These are a few questions all landowners should ask before being convinced to blindly sign a lease with an O&G company, landowner group, or attorney/marketing agent.  Clearly a conflict of interest arises if your "agent" is working both sides of the deal with the O&G company.   

Our lease was not done through a landowners group, but is directly with Adapt.  We hired our own attorney to review the lease paperwork before we signed it.

 

Adapt is the advertised broker for Halcon Resources. The payment order for the Adapt lease provides for terms that allow the lessee to surrender the lease without payment. Halcon has been surrendering thousands of acres of leases in Venango and Mercer Counties without payment. Halcon appears to have been prospecting into Crawford County. I can't imagine Halcon picking up a lease that is not contained within a block of acreage. Gaurdian advertised that  it had a relationship with Halcon in Union Township and was going to pursue drilling. That hasn't occurred. You should go over and read the discussions in Venango and Mercer  on this site to inform yourself as to the Halcon/Adapt status. As for Wayne, it is in a Range developmental zone

 To Kim conaway: What was that attorney's name? I want to make sure I choose somebody else! Unless that attorney clearly explained that Adapt could cancel the lease? If he didn't, you need to let us know! We are in this together.
