Now that Patterson is out (THANK GOD!) will NYS begin the process of Natural Gas Exploration/Drilling in Delaware County? Is there anything doing in the forseeable future? Will Gas Companies (Chesapeake) pack their bags and move on to other counties? Many lease agreements were 5 years long. Many have only two years left on them... WTF?

The Delaware River Basin commission has issued a moratorium in the basin so CHK and others have been declaring Force Majeure for their leases. The Force Majeure allows the gascos to suspend their leases until such time as they are permitted to move forward with ng development.
Is there any movement or idea when this moratorium will be lifted? So essentially, any 5 year lease is currently indefinite until the moratorium is lifted? (The clock starts when drilling can legally begin?)
If they come out with the regulations by Nov, Dec as they're planning and then a comment period, 45 days, a rewrite and another comment period, 30-45 days and then the final draft, probably late spring.

IMHO, the DRBC is trying to time it to come out about the time NYS comes out with their GEIS.
