I'm wondering if the drilling has slowed due to the well head price of gas. I heard this week on the radio gas drilling companies will make a huge profit at $6.00. There is a lot of land leased in the county but not much drilling. Most of it seems to be either north and east part of the county. Some folks are lucky enough to have more than one well drilled on their land while others have leases running out. I would say the best thing to do is get to the Courthouse and it's public record to see who around you has signed with who. Has anyone had a paid up lease recently? I have seen at the Courthouse top lease and paid up leases. Does the gas company contact the land owner about this or does the landowner approach the gas company?
