Interesting, the second Utica well which initiated the run on eastern Ohio land is the one well with a shroud of secrecy.

I have been trying to find out ehat this wells status is, good or bad. I cannot get any answer as to what the future of this well is. i was wondering if it is a good well, but has no way to move the oil from the well to market cheaply.

I spoke with a friend last night who did a flyover of all of the wells being drilled right now and he stated that if you look at the well sites from the air, they do line up in a fairly straight line with each other.

This could possible a planned route for a new oil transmission line, but who knows. It would be nice if ODNR could plot all of the finished and under construction wells on a map so we could gain a little insight from that. This would be especially helpful for the landowners between the wells sites as they would most likely be part of the future pipeline routing plans.

That's all right. I was just going to point out that the Buell is really an important well. And the Buell was the well that was shut in for the longest before it came on. And so one of the approaches we've taken in here is that our wells are -- we're not bringing them on immediately after completion. Sometimes that's due to pipeline delay, but sometimes, it's due to certain engineering and production performance benefits that we get by leaving them shut in for a while. So if you look at the Buell, at least 575,000 barrels of liquids and 13 Bcf of gas, it may very well be our best shale well ever. And so I think that's a great indication of what's likely to come going forward in that play. But you're never going to get the information you probably desire from the state reports because it's never going to report liquids and it's always going to be at peak rate. So I think you'll just have to watch the play develop. And the good news is a lot of other producers are getting in the area and starting to talk about it more, I think you'll be able to triangulate in to what we see, which is how could we be more pleased with the play when in one of your first wells, you drilled your best shale well ever after having drilled thousands of shale wells. So I think it really bodes well for the play going forward.

 In the "Harrison - Carrol - Columbiana" county corridor many of the wells are very near State Route 9.  State Route 9 goes from Cadiz in Harrsion county through Carrolton in Carroll county and on to Salem in Columbiana County. A quick, Inexpensive and easy way to move their heavy equipment, water trucks and oil tankers to and from the well pads?

 

 CHPK has plans for two O&G Processing Facilties.  One O&G facility in Columbiana County (near SR-9) and one O&G facility in Harrison county. The pipeline connecting the two facilities will travel along State Route 9.

 

 I see State Route 9 as the backbone for Chesapeake's operations in these three counties.

Thank you, that confirms my thoughts on that as well. That is very good information for all of the landowners in between the wells and will be beneficial to them in future negotiations.

As in all businesses, logistics is the backbone of profit lines. How can we get product "X" to point "A" in the least expensive (profit loss) manner possible.

Finnbears response above included more of the verbage from an earlier interview that I had not seen before and was also very helpful in addressing some of my concerns.

I live near rt 76 and 534 by TDDS does anyone know if there is any plans for a well anytime soon.

Looks like Seismic Testing on Palmyra Rd. from NE River Rd to east of  Rt45, Orange Ribbons every 100Ft or so with every other one Orange & White. So what does this mean?? Are we getting close to drilling time??

 See they've either been flaring the mysytery well again the past couple days or someone is real serious about roasting hot dogs back there.   Pump jack not pumping though.

I saw that too. Maybe the drilled out another fracking plug at section. I am all over the place on this well as to what is really going on there. The Chesapeake big wheels stated two weeks ago that this is one of the wells completed, but has no pipeline to carry away the oil products.

This well seems to be the biggest mystery of the entire play. The well was in production for 79 days yet it performed as if it were shut in. They knew when they drilled it that there was no take away. So why are they acting like this lack of pipeline is some sort of surprise? Maybe this is just a weak well and rather than put out bad results they're shutting it in until they have enough other good wells to offset the bad news. If they have a few more Buell wells to report the market would be accepting of a dud here and there. Some of these wells will be lousy, it happens. I'm just wondering if they're putting off the bad news.
