Ok today talked with an individual with about 200 acres on the eastern edge of Muskingum County was offered $5000/acre several months ago it is now $5,800/acre and he hasn't signed! He has no reason to lie about it he wasn't trying to get me to lease. So take it for what its worth.

Can you say what oil company offered him it?

If you are talking that kind of money you should be able to recall I get price up dates every day and have not heard that price.

  Ok here it is I jest spoke with the individual. He said he was offered $4300/acre   about six months ago and played it cool, he wouldn't return the phone calls from them. Finally they paid him a home visit at that time they bumped it up to $5300 and he played cool to it, they called again and said how much? He said $6,0000/acre  with his own lease being excepted at 20%.  They countered with $5,800 and a perhaps only 18% instead of 20% . He said it was Anadark. He has 200 acres so it might be legit if they want that 200 Acres without getting through it through a land group is a possibility if he were to join one.

Billy, This would be very big news you said the acreage was in Eastern Muskingum County do you know what Township? The Company name is Anadarko they are drilling in Noble County now and are fracking in Guernsey County. 740-432-8863 thanks Mike

 You want to interview the guy? lol I'll ask him when he gets back up to the house. He is in the timber business and looking over my woods. By the way it never hurts to get a free estimate of the value of anything you may own? I have seen antique guns be bought dirt cheap from widows that had no idea what the value was of the gun much to the displeasure of a son who knew but didn't know what grandma was doing.

 It never hurts to have family members to have an idea in case of your death, exception may be inlaws. lol

The person owns property in several counties. This offer was made to him for property he owns in Guernsey County Cambridge Twp along I-77.

  The discussion bounced around a bit as he had different offers in different areas. I homed in on the eastern Muskingum  of course as being a resident of Muskingum County.

  The Offer was Guernsey County, Cambridge Township.

Hi Jodi welcome aboard! Sounds to me 5 wells in the past few months would be sample wells pulling core samples.  Could be a plan to a field to the area if the core samples have good show, that would be my guess.

 I have a friend out off Houdeshell Rd.  knowing him a oil company will be meeting with one shrewd individual, so far offers made to him in his opinion were laughable! Of course these offers may have been made by independent landsmen as well.

Land man for David Hill said, they are leasing for Petroleum Development Corp (PDC) Denver.  David Hill did close on the Boy Scout Camp with a lease.
