Endeavor  to the East and I hear of Anadarko further west.

Hey Bill! I've missed you and grandma! lol

I don't know what trap you think you are laying for me. But I appreciate you cataloging my brilliant commentary and insight of the oil & gas business in Ohio over the past year on this site.

Your idea of Government seizure of assets for the crime of fulfilling contractual obligations has me intrigued, however. I think you should definitely assemble a law team and take this head on!

To be fair Bill Nate's assessment of leasing all strata at once is pretty typical of how Ohio has operated for decades. I can't speak to any of the other stuff as I am not aware of the situation beyond what I've read here.

wow following the threads from ohio has been better than watching Jerry Springer or Maurys dna shows you guys got more venom than a snake handlers show

cobra bill ed hbo adam all the haters thx good theater  OUTSTANDING

thank you I all I need is a funnel cake

glad you enjoyed it as well,I found it almost as funny as your rants

not sure where your trying to go with it though....or what you are trying to infer?

I don't think that's true. If the Utica proves to be anything like the Barnett--small sweet spot and miles of uneconomic wells--then some of Ohio will return to the conventional fields. Remember, the bulk of Ohio's and America's natural gas comes from conventional wells. Without decades of shallow drillers in this state gas would be more expensive. Hate Nate all you want but there are plenty of drillers who have been heating homes for 50 years.

It's a landowner's prerogative to lease or not bill. If you and grandma don't want to have a shallow operator drill a well on you, it's no big deal. There are many other people excited with the prospect of having a producer call upon them.

Uh oh David,

He's re-posting your posts, tread lightly sir!

I thought we established before that I pay gross royalties, perhaps Bill can repost that.  Either way it's no big deal if you never get shallow well drilled on your property or not. You keep thinking you're holding something over the producing community.

Bill,  I didn't know you were an authority on Holmes county as well.  you sure do get around.  The economics of shallow wells will not allow anyone to pay that much.  However if the landowner has learned anything, it is to be specific about what zones are leased instead the entire enchilada.

Does anyone have an answer to the original question posted or is this just another bitchfest?

You should take your bitter attitude and put it to good use.  if you are from Belmont/Monroe, the biggest obstacle to leasing there is probably coal issues. So why don't you start writing your representatives and letting them know you are upset.  Otherwise, all you do is attack everyone on this board.   You go from one attack to another.

You think these paid landman are any different than car salesman?  They will tell you want you think you want to hear just to get you to buy from them.  Ever bought a car before?  My point is, your bitterness has no value here.  it's buyer beware and don't forget it.  The only thing that I know is that the 'rabbit herder' doesn't get paid until I get paid.  So Des, LA, and Jennifer Garrison's group at the end of the day have motivation to bring a deal to the table.  Failure to do so, benefits no one.
