Chesapeake states they value their Utica Shale holdings at $20 Billion. On 1.25Million acres of holdings, that is roughly $16,000/acre. This is the total value, not what you would expect for a lease bonus payment.
Does anyone know how to calculate a fair market value for a lease bonus and royalty percentage based on this type of valuation.
