I went to a meeting in August of 2010, in Harrison County Ohio. i was told to slow down, think about this as a long term commitment, to talk with my family , my neighbors and above all do not sign anything without legal representation, hopefully a oil and gas attorney!
A small company hosted and presented to the crowd a story about UTICA SHALE, at the time no one else was evening thinking that the marcellus was valuable in Ohio, at alone any other shale, these guys were way ahead of the game or I should say the PLAY......THANK GOD I listened.
Many folks have taken the bait from the so-called carpet baggers, snake oil salesmen and signed their rights away for as little as $250 an acre, some signed for higher dollars but fell to the sale pitch of ''don't wait too long it will be your last day to sign up"" ..have we all heard that saying enough? tHE MARKETING COMPANIES FOOLED MANY into thinking they were here to help, encouraging many to sign quickly in some cases not even getting a copy of the lease.
I went to more meetings continued to educate myself joined in a landowners group and look at us now!
As the owner of said company told us, we own the natural resource, we need a fair and equitable lease form 1st, then we will bid it out only at our terms because we control the acres.
Splitter groups have tried to break out but as we all have witnessed those who stick together can accomplish more.
If it were not for OA4U my family would have signed over our 768acres, I want to publically thank them for helping educate myself and my neighbors.
Ohioacres4u and the JRM TEAM have created this marketplace for us as well as the ALOV and ECOL groups we have all benefited by being united, by sticking together great things are happening in the valley.
GREAT JOB S.U.R.E.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
