Does anyone know if the O&G companies will be interested in drilling near injection wells or do they have to stay away from them??? If so how far??? Any feed back would be appreciated.

The injection zone is below the Utica/Point Pleasant pay zone so I don't imagine that it's going to be an issue, geologically.  Frankly there are so many millions of acres under lease it would seem silly to drill anywhere near a SWIW unless you absolutely had to.

Thanks, I do realize they won't drill on top of it. I guess I was wondering how close of land they would be interested in leasing from an injection well (half a mile, mile or 5 miles). If its not a geologically issue like you say they could probably can run their laterals pretty close. Appreciate your thoughts.

Generally 3000 feet they do not want to drill into whatever was injected into the soil.

Hal.....

Where does your information come from?    I have heard the same from a friend that was approached by a company to put an injection well on his 30 acres.  They told him a 1/2 mile radius which is close to 3000 feet.

Wouldn't that stop o/g production with your neighbors property?
