Hi folks,

The East Central Ohio Forestry Association (ECOFA) will be hosting Dale Arnold from the Ohio Farm Bureau at our February Meeting. He will be talking about Marcellus Shale gas leases. Of course this should be of interest to those on this discussion board.

The meeting is open to the public, and will be held Wednesday, February 2nd at 7:30 pm. Our meetings are held the first wednesday of each month at the McDonald/Marlite Center in New Philadelphia. From Rt 39, turn on to McDonald Drive by the Advance Auto Parts and we are in the last building on the left.

The East Central Ohio Forestry Association was founded to provide information to its members and the general public about multiple use management of forestland. Our members are landowners who enjoy managing and working in our forests. Each month we have a speaker on a topic related to our forests. Please come check us out! For more information feel free to email me at Jeremy.Scherf@dnr.state.oh.us or check out our website at www.ecofa.org

Hope to see you at the meeting!

the meeting has held as scheduled.....I was not there....but know for sure it did take place.

Yes, the meeting went on as planned.  We had a decent turnout of around 60. I think the weather held a lot of people away.  Our speakers (Dale Arnold of Farm Bureau and a couple attorneys) did a fantastic job and I think everyone came away better informed.  Sorry you missed it Jim.

Hi Jim,

I agree, the educational side of this is very important.  Unfortunately, my high workload wont allow me to take any sort of lead on this. It is out of my line of work.  The SWCDs' could be a good place to start to try to get some more workshops planned.  If you are interested, I would talk to them to gauge their interest. I wish I could help, but I have a huge pile of my own work to tackle right now. Good luck!

Jeremy
