Paul - we received a lease offer from Artex Oil Co for $25/acre for mineral rights on  1,450+ acres in Union township - based on reports from other counties this would seem very low - trying to obtain info from the Morgan county recorder may not be easy because of money situation there-we intend to obtain legal counsel as well as monitor info on lease activity in this area - Bill Kern

Thank you for your response Bill. Yes from what I've read it seems low.

Artex is one of the companies involved in the survey in Mogan county, the letter requesting permission to access my land for the survey had their name on it and the survey company told me there are a few companies together behind the survey but I guess Artex is the main one. He told me they are spending millions of dollars to have the survey done and expect to get a return on it.

I have 52 acres in Bloom township, he said they are more interested in the 40 on top of the hill than the 12 going up the side. If they're gonna disrupt my recreational use of my land for minerals it has to be worth it. A drilling pad could take up 20 acres. I live to hunt, drive out there from MA. as often as I can during the season. An if they scare all the deer away?

I'll keep watching for info too. Thanks-Paul
