In case some of you didn't read the Sullivan Review this week of March 3, 2010, the MARC I hub line is a go!

The article says that "Inergy will be sponsoring a "binding open season" to determine the final size and scope of the project in the next three weeks. Inergy expects to file a Natural Gas Act 7(c) application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a certificate of public convenience and neccessity in the Spring of 2010 and anticipates the North-South Project to be placed into service by late 2011."

It also says, "The MARC I would open Sullivan County up to the extensive Marcellus Shale natural gas development that is being seen in Lycoming, Tioga, Bradford and Susquehanna counties as the producers would have access to a large interconnected pipeline system serving the major natural gas consuming northeastern United States."   For maps and information go to www.stagecoachstorage.com

It seems the Stagecoach line goes right along the eastern border of Sullivan and Wyoming Counties. Does anyone know the history of Kaitlin Hollow and Stagecoach Road in Lovelton? Some old maps show a Stage coach road going across the top of Briskey Mountain in Colley.
Hi, I had an interview with a senior vp of Inergy in Feb and he confirmed that once Inergy gets approval from the Federal Energy approval commission, the pipeline can get started and he hopes completed early 2012. I make no guesses about drilling for gas in SC till then.
The Sullivan County Energy Task force meets 4th monday each month at courthouse, Laporte Pa
at 0900. you are welcome to come and join a committee.
has anyone actually seen the route of the MARC 1 pipeline? has anyone been approached to lease a pipeline right-away
Hi David

There use to be a map on line but it is gone. As for people being approached, I know someone who got a letter 2 or 3 weeks ago from the company saying that it was a go. I also know that it is planned to go along Fitzgerald Road outside of Dushore there are markers in the field. There has been no action there yet.
Two weeks ago, I was at a dinner meeting with the Senior Vp of Inergy co, the developer of the Mark I and he says and I quote the pipeline is 90% certain. Still paper contracts to complete and paperwork to complete with the Feds.

The Sullivan County Energy Task force meets on May 24 at the LaPorte courthouse at 0900 and the speaker is Mr Ryan from DEP. Bring your questions. JOHN SILLA
after Dushore where does it go towards Red Rock or towards Laporte?
I do not see a Fitzgerald Road is that the correct name or is that a homeowner's name?
It is the road and the family name. It is located about one mile south of Dushore on Route 487.
Jeff,

Do you have any idea which direction the proposed line goes from Dushore, towards Red Rock or towards Laporte?
Hi David,

I don't know. I get different stories from different people. A Colley Twp. official told me two weeks ago where the general path through the Twp. was and that it is going to Benton. A friend from work who lives on the top of Sonestown Mountain, Laporte Twp. got a letter about two weeks ago from the company saying the pipeline was a go. The two areas are no where near each other. Maybe we will luck out and get two pipelines.
thanks Jeff I have the results...nobody seems to know a route
thanks Jeff nobody seems to know a definitive route
