Dimock PA - PA DEP determines water quality improved, water deliveries to cease

After all is said and done, the water has returned to normal after methane migration occurred over two years ago due to faulty well casing.  The offending wells were plugged and an independent water testing agency has determined the water meets federal drinking standards: http://www.cabotog.com/pdfs/URS_Cabot_Plaintiff_Letter.pdf.  Yes, it's an natural gas industry site, but it's the only web page with a link to the letter which I have found.  The last paragraph says it all:

"Analytical results for samples collected at the source of plaintiffs’ drinking water (e.g., seep houses, groundwater wells, pressure tanks, as available) demonstrated that the water met all Federal Primary Drinking Water standards."

This should be the end of the story as life returns to normal for those who live in Dimock and have been less than happy with the way their town has been portrayed as the industrial wasteland it's not, but of course the anti-drill crowd is determined not to let go of it as their poster child, at least not over the next couple months when there is still a determination to be made as to the future of drilling in New York State and the Delaware River Basin.

As someone who lives close to the affected locale and has friends in the Consent Order area, I have found the majority of Dimock residents to be a proud bunch and many have been embarrassed by those actions of a few who have allowed themselves to be the puppets of those with an agenda.  Only three or four people consistently show up to keep the lies in motion and in the forefront of the news media outlets, out of a town of slightly over 600 households.  Out of the entire radius, there were only 30 or so residences within the 9-mile diameter and the number of residences represented in the lawsuit are now down to 11.

The last event staged was a "Walk for Water" of which three Dimock residents showed up and the rest of the dozen and a half so folks were from New York, most of which are heads of or actively involved in extremist environmental groups.  If there were really a problem, doesn't it stand to reason in this tight-knit community that more Dimock residents would show up?

If you haven't already, please go to our DIMOCKPROUD.COM website. This website was started by Dimock residents who found that the media did not feel our voices were worth hearing. We have no drinking water problems and we do not conduct ourselves as angry, demanding citizens. Our goal was to defend the good name of our town and to bring to light the reality of what has been and is happening in Dimock. Check out our website - especially our videos.

I went to your website.  Good for the Dimock residents standing up for their town.  You need more publicity.

Dimock...more shale gas collateral damage.
