"§ 3241.  Appropriation of interest in real property.
(a)  General rule.--Except as provided in this subsection, a corporation empowered to transport, sell or store natural gas or manufactured gas in this Commonwealth may appropriate an interest in real property located in a storage reservoir or reservoir protective area for injection, storage and removal from storage of natural gas or manufactured gas in a stratum which is or previously has been commercially productive of natural gas. ..."

I wonder if the leases that were signed with East some three years ago for more royalty and $150 to $300 and acre allow for gas storage.  I think that my older lease states that gas storage is definitely not part of the deal.

The first East lease I saw was in early 2010.  It did include the storage option but the landman struck it out without me asking. Which may have been because few conventional wells have ever been drilled in my part of TC.  Other companies' leases I've read do have the storage option.

But normally it wouldn't be the same company one is leased to that would be doing the storage area, so a no-storage term in the existing lease wouldn't apply to the storage company.
