waiting for a landman today to visit

Last monday, I think he said he was a landman from East, came to our door. His purpose was to get more information about our particular situation. It appears as if we are in a , what he called "buffer zone" of Dominion's storage area. several of my neighbors are also in this "buffer zone."  Seems like Dominion is dragging their feet in allowing other companies to drill thru their so called buffer zone.

 

Anyway this Landman said that he was going to check out the status of the buffer zone and get back to us by the end of this week. I presume if  Dominion refuses to allow drilling thru this buffer zone then there will probably will be a legal Bru Ha Ha over it.

 

This landman also gave us other interesting information.

Bill; East must be interested in your property if they are willing to go to all that trouble. Heck, they claim they are interested in my land, but won't even visit me. I got a lease in the mail, with instructions to sign it in front of a notary and mail it back to them.

That approach is similar to a company first blanketing an area with a junk mail offer. If that doesn't produce the desired number of sales, move on to cold calling. Those screenings will leave a certain number of nonrespondents that the company would like to have as customers. The company will then pause long enough for them to get worried that they may have missed "the deal of a lifetime" ... then, finally, send out salesmen.
