Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

FERC requires pipelines it regulates to maintain a public website. Some do a better/worse job than others.
The Empire Pipeline website: https://www.natfuel.com/empire/
Here is a page I was looking for:
"Operationally Available Capacity - Effective Gas Day: 05/15/2018"
Scroll down to:
"TEUI - Talisman EPRU91101 Receipt Location
SENA - SWEPI EPRU91111 Receipt Location"
Note that both are operating well short of design capacity.

I could use some help in deciphering Kinder-Morgan's information about Tennessee Gas Pipeline's STA 315 (Tioga Cty). It appears that K-M has two units of approx. equal capacity, TD1 and TD2. TD2 is operating at near capacity, but TD1 is shut down. Is this a likely scenario?
Permalink Reply by Ann Ticopa on May 15, 2018 at 7:20am When I click on the 315 box on their map, only the active one (TD2) shows on the pop-up. Yesterday it was within 2% of "full", today 10%. I never "got" financial accounting; cost accounting was more intuitive. It could be cost effective to inconvenience a few customers rather than starting up the second unit. Time will tell ... thank you.

Permalink Reply by william Allen. Ladd on May 16, 2018 at 3:08am Thank you Ann Ticopa for this posting. Most of us land owners, including me, have little idea how this gas and oil business works. And most of us are not adept to looking up and understanding what is taking place with the industry!

Permalink Reply by Ann Ticopa on May 16, 2018 at 5:08am I don't claim to now understand how it all works. But that article helped. I was surprised how big a part transportation plays in the price of residential gas service.
Permalink Reply by william Allen. Ladd on May 17, 2018 at 12:37am I guess that I never gave a thought to the problems of transporting the gas to where it is needed or wanted Ann. And like everything else there are problems of pipelines deteriorating and sometimes failing completely too. Rerouting needed gas or other petroleum products can be a real problem. And there aways is a period of "catching up" when these failures occur!
Rainstorms, floods, hurricanes can easily disrupt, even for weeks, delivery of needed petroleum products.

Permalink Reply by Ann Ticopa on May 17, 2018 at 2:42am One of the things I've wondered about is whether they have considered the impact of acid rain (here) on the pipelines. Do they lime the soil when they backfill?
Permalink Reply by Ann Ticopa on May 17, 2018 at 1:17pm While cleaning up (or closing) coal-powered generating plants has helped improve the rain pH, it doesn't reverse the loss of soil buffering capacity. As for pipe coating and other protective treatment, if it was fool-proof, Spectras's Texas Eastern pipe wouldn't have exploded. As for riding the soil of potentially damaging stones, any Tioga Cty native would know that is impossibble. The earth urps up a new crop with each Sping Thaw.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
