Permalink Reply by Swift on May 24, 2012 at 3:32pm Rumor has it from neighbors to the farm that there was an issue with the existing lease. Not sure what the issue was but report is the site prep crew was told to stop stoning the site and move on to other areas until further notice. I haven't been able to find a permit for this well on ODNR either...

I believe the problem is one of the dozers found a sink hole in the location possibly from an old artesian well that was there long ago and was covered over back in the seventies. I can remember a hole there that appeared to be about the size and depth that made me always think it was old building foundation. The current owner covered it over and has been farming over top of it for last 30 or more years. The ODNR was called in on it. Probably they will have to make sure the ground is stable enough to hold up the equipment.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
