Hello I am new to all this gas stuff.  Well I am learning every day. Shell is supposedly in the area ? I live on 208 and my neighbors and I have leased some property to be mined for coal. No deep stuff. Will this impact my ability to lease for marcellus or utica?

Also I was wondering if any one else was contacted by them? I have lots of questions and would appreciate any help. Any one know a good gas lawyer and how much they charge ?

Thanks again....

Are you on PA208 anywhere near Georgetown Road?
about a mile away. near the road that takes you to the irwin rod and gun club. Worked all night cant remember the name of that road.Several neighbors are interested....
I have several neighbors interested as well.  We are close, right at the corner of County Line Road and Byers Road.  Byler Lumber (Amish sawmill on County Line Road) is interested too.  We should get together and look at a map to see how we could form a unit.
Mark...no, mining for coal will not have any impact on your ability to get a lease and vice versa. There is just some paper work/process required by both companies(no cost to you).   Also, Shell does have a time table, and will be  interested in working with us landowners in Venango County and our attorneys soon. They will not give out any information at this time. As far as getting a good and EXPERIENCED oil/gas attorney...Ron Coyer in Slippery Rock or Tom May in the city of Butler.
Have you been contacted by Shell ?
I have been speaking with them, but the more important response here is that as soon as Shell decides that they have enough of leases in Butler County, they will then begin contacting the landowners in Venango County.
I've been talking to Shell landman Jason Hannath, 248-425-4667.  Shell is offering $3K/acre, 15% gross royalty.  Give him a call.

Yes ...Shell is now working in Venango County. I have worked with them on some of my parcels in Northern Butler County, and they are great to work with. They were very professional and worked with me and my attorney. My cousin also signed up with them. I will be working with them on two parcels I have in Southern Venango County when I get back in town.

I tried contacting Shell's landman, Jason Hannath  at 248-425-4667, but found it to be a non-working number.  Do you know if he has an alternate number where he can be reached?

I have the same number.  email me at mwwalentosky@yahoo.com  or call me at 814 671-4446.

I have a meeting with Shell next week to discuss offers.  However, I am meeting with the regional director so I can talk with someone with authority to provide real offers.
I will be introducing the Shell landman (Jason Hannath) to some Amish landowners in Irwin Township, probably one day this week.  It will be during the day.  If anyone in lower Venango (Irwin or Clinton Townships) would like to hear what he has to say, email me at gtbrown@wengert.com and I'll give you the date/time/location for the meeting.
