How is the turn made for drilling the horizontal portion of the well?
Air hammer drill bit, tungsten carbide cutters.
In my 30 years in the business, the only time I heard the term "Drill head" used was by Bruce Willis in "Armeggedon", when his crew was going to drill the big shot hole into the Asteroid and save Planet Earth. We called them drill bits

This looks to me to be a PDC (polycrystalline diamond) drill bit with no nozzels (jets) and large fluid courses between the PDC cutter buttons.
I'm not sure f I would use this with air, as air alone provides no cooling or lubricity like fluid does.
These are expensive and heavy items, so don'tdrop it on your toe!
