A 20% increase? In Chemung County NY? Hah! Airport is booming, hotels, restaurants, folks are spending money. In the Star Gazette (4/15/10) they failed to mention OR even suggest the fact of those "gas well company's" setting up shop here in Horseheads are responsible for it! The folks they employ, houses they purchase, the money they spend. Now as you all are aware of- NYS is BROKE. Being the "blue" state we are, NYC has spent every dime.. Little old chemung county…

Heard on the news today that pres/obama is now going to allow off shore exploration/drilling off coast of Virginia, Gulf of Mexico! What a change of heart from his campaining days? So- my point is why not marcellus shale? What is wrong with our politicians in NYS? If its good enough for Virginia (50 miles off coast) why not here in NYS? WE NEED JOBS out here!
I urge Southern Tier, and Broom county folks-to write there Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles…

I have been to many meetings concerning companies trying to do business in NYS. This man, (hang) has popped up with his data, telling tax payers and communities that this industry is a "bad" idea and will contaminate water, even cause cancer in some cases. He shows his "hotspots" of contamination, then the fear is on! He has costed villages and taxpayers money to check on his "data". Most is bogus! Why is this happening?
