I have been to many meetings concerning companies trying to do business in NYS. This man, (hang) has popped up with his data, telling tax payers and communities that this industry is a "bad" idea and will contaminate water, even cause cancer in some cases. He shows his "hotspots" of contamination, then the fear is on! He has costed villages and taxpayers money to check on his "data". Most is bogus! Why is this happening? I realize there IS freedom of speech here in this nation, but- to spread lies, mis-information is a crime. It has costed UNNECESSARY money for the village to check on his LIES. I live in a small village in NYS, and the things that happen here to prevent natural gas production is down right criminal! Not the village officials mind you, it's the community. In my opinion it's about MISINFORMATION! Gas companies NEED to educate, articulate what they're communicating. There are many retired people in these parts. They hear the lies, and conclude to saying no. Most havent a clue! I would also like to comment on rumors in the industry. The latest one being that a female DEC officer is married to the head of an enviromentalist group? If this one IS true, why isnt some attorney on this? The data given to DEC & EPA would be false and be mere biased information! The state needs this to happen. It can take a good chunk of the state OUT of the red! I see the gas industry NOT as aggressive as it should be, UNLIKE those who are ill- informed!
