The Shale Gas News, heard every Saturday at 10 AM on 94.3 FM, 1510 AM and Sundays on YesFM, talked about frac sand, the shell cracker, NGL storage hub and much more last week.

The Shale Gas News has grown to THREE stations! We are now broadcasting with YesFM. YesFM will be airing the full 60 minute version of the program on Sunday mornings. YesFM broadcasts primarily in Sullivan and Bradford counties, with some ancillary coverage in neighboring counties and even over the border into New York.

Every Saturday Rusty Fender and I host a morning radio show to discuss all things natural gas. This week, as guests, we had David Blackman an independent energy analyst/consultant based in Mansfield, TX and regular Forbes contributor and Tammy Geanangel a 31 year member of and graduate of the apprentice of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 in Pittsburgh.

The Shale Gas News, typically, is broadcast live. On the November 18th show, we covered the following new territory:

  • Arkansas Frac Sand Getting Barged to Ohio for Marc/Utica Fracking. Here’s something you don’t read about every day: frac sand being mined in Arkansas. Usually you read about sand being mined in Wisconsin or Illinois, or maybe in Oklahoma or even Texas. But we’ve never read about sand coming from Arkansas. Here’s something else you don’t read about every day: Sand from Arkansas is about to be barged up the Mississippi River, onto the Ohio River, and unloaded at a dock somewhere in Ohio. The sand, which will come from Select Sands, will be used for fracking Utica and Marcellus Shale wells.
