Keep Wayne Wild is phony fractivist outfit with apparent connections to both the extremist CELDF and the Sierra Club. It’s also a for-profit T-shirt outlet.
It takes real gall to be a fractivist. You have to be able always to disguise who you really are. More importantly, you must be equipped with the chutzpah to do so brazenly in spite of the obvious. Our friend Jackie Stewart at Energy In Depth lays out the case for just an outfit. It’s a group called Keep Wayne Wild. Her story of fractivist deceit by this bunch of phony “volunteers” can be found here, but there’s more.
Jackie uncovered the fact Keep Wayne Wild, a group focused on preventing any natural gas development within the Wayne National Forest is a for-profit LLC. The Forest accounts for almost a quarter million acres of land in Southeastern Ohio and Keep Wayne Wild says it’s “a volunteer group of dedicated, citizens who are working to protect Wayne National Forest (WNF) from invasive and unnecessary extraction activities, specifically high-powered hydraulic fracturing.”
