Cabot Oil & Gas just came out with some numbers that offer the definitive pushback to the Frackonomics of Deborah Rogers, the goat farmer and model whose presentations might better be labeled “Foolonomics” given their purpose of fooling the public.

Deborah Rogers was in New York City the other day during her “Frackonomics” song and dance before a group of anti-development legislators and special interests.  State Senator Brad Hoylman, one of the sponsors, tweeted these observations:

“Shale wells will be depleted nationwide by 2024. #Fracking is an economic bust says Deborah Rogers.”

Deborah Rogers says revenue decreases for municipalities while number of #fracking wells increase. No long term revenue.

These tweets provide some insight into what was said and, based on Rogers previous presentations, we can know pretty well the entire program, a piece of sophistry tailor-made for a crowd interested in reinforcing their wishful thinking that natural gas and fracking will simply go away – except it’s not.  One company alone, Cabot Oil & Gas,  has just destroyed her entire house of cards argument with its latest financial guidance.
