"EQT got in touch with us.  They are leasing the families acreage.  They offered us $3,500 a acre with 15 percent royalaties.  We sent the offer to are lawyer.  Any thoughts on this?  Thank you."

"if you need cash now or are using the acreage as investment for retirement you can't find a better investment then the gas royalty. If you sell you can get upwards of 12,000 an acre right now but know that you could receive upwards of 5 or 6…"

My thinking is that if everyone in you family group can agree to proceed as a group....that will give you the most leverage with EQT. That does not mean you can't do it alone, if a consensus is not going to happen. One thing that I don't know....do you also own the surface rights? If you do not, it will make your addendum much easier, but know that any prospective Lessor (EQT?) will need to negotiate a surface lease if they want to site a pad on this acreage.
