"IMO, there are several reasons why activity is so low right now....
The wild west days of leasing are over, and the players have enough acreage to develop without new leaseholds.
Producers are now developing that leased acreage with the best chance…"
"Aside from nuclear plants for electricity...what might be this current technology that will replace the roughly 78% of the worlds' energy needs supplied by fossil fuels?
I never see nuclear mentioned as a viable option in the 'clean…"
"OT, do you see this as the Western and Southern most delineation of the Utica sweet spot in Tioga Co.? It seems like any other Utica wells in the areas west and south have proven to be less than stellar, so much so that there do not appear to be any…"
"Inchworm, Dan....I agree censorship is not required. Our own internal compass decides what we choose to read and believe, or dismiss....or decline to read at all.
I generally read a few lines of certain posts....if nothing of substance is revealed,…"
"I live in the great state of NY (shouldn't need to explain this is sarcasm).Nothing will happen here on any grand scale until Cuomo and his NYC cronies are defeated at the polls....in other words.....never.
We own NY rights about 15 miles from…"
"Did you obtain a Surrender of Lease from the previous Lessee? If not, might be a first step.
Did you consult an attorney with OGM rights experience before signing? Might ask them what they know or are hearing.

"I saw a new permit for the Lingle 1102 pad in Deerfield township. This pad has three (Utica?) producing wells, IP in Nov.2017. They were not 'killer wells', but decent.

"My opinion for 2020 and beyond is varied, depending on Politics (a real surprise, huh?), and the traction or lack thereof of the Anti fossil fuel gang.
Democrats oppose (now, at least) any further use of FFs, yet they fail to embrace the one true…"
"I don't disagree with you. My point is this is a forum for the gas biz in our little corner of the world. I visit this site to learn about it.
I do not begrudge anyone their opinion....we all have them about lots of issues.
There are literally…"
"I should have clarified. I meant natural gas prices.
Oil seems to be holding up (much?) better, although I heard on the news the other day that gasoline prices "should be falling soon", as much as $.25 per gallon.
You are not alone in…"
"Two words....gas price.
The 'talking heads' are certain prices will not rebound significantly anytime soon, so it appears that most E&Ps are cutting back on Capex, drilling only enough to fulfill pipeline contracts.
"The concept of re-fracing wells has been around for a long time....so it begs a question:
Does anyone have knowledge of a re-frac process performed on an existing Marcellus or Utica well in the PA/OH/WV plays?
I would appreciate being pointed to…"
"Lots of moving parts in this question; any speculation determining the 'royalty per acre' will be just that....speculation..
Size of the PRODUCTION Unit
Number of your acres in the PU
IP of the well(s) is a big…"

What makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen.[ Read More ]
