Wondering if anyone has any updates on recent developments in Gaines/Clymer Twp.  We're right on the Twp line between Gaines and Clymer.  Saw a drilling pad going in (over the July 4th holiday) just north of us at the intersection of Church Hill and Johnson Rd.  We leased with Ultra but were informed by the seismic guys that the lease had been flipped to Shell.  Anyone know if drilling units have been formed for this area and if so, where we could get some maps.

Once the pooling document is recorded with the county, Shell will send you your copy.  Also, if you know the name of the well you're interested in and the permit numbers, you can get a document from DEP called the Well Location Plat.  That will give you the location of the vertical hole and the horizontal wells associated with it.  You can call the main DEP number, ask for the file room, and give them that permit information.  Each vertical and horizontal well gets its own permit.  You can find all that on the DEP site on eFACTS.  Based on what I've experienced with the unit we're in, if they are working on the pad, then the permits should be at least applied for and the formation of the unit and design of the well plats will almost, if not already, be done.

I don't understand the locations listed in that database. It has the Butler 127 well located in Keeneyville; it isn't; it's south of Route 6, west of Heise Run Road. That's no where near Keeneyville. It claims the Fuleihan well is in Antrim; it isn't...it on Balsam Road, just south of Morral Road. That's NOT Antrim. Both are in the Wellsboro PO area. Do they have some different way of lumping wells into locations?
Yeah, those guys kill me. I don't know how they come up with some of those.  A lot of the time, in the column under Site Address, it's blank.  And half the time, it's wrong.  A number of wells in Covington Twp, under Site Address, just list Blossburg....which is in a different Twp. isn't it?  And when in doubt, they just list Cherry Flats.  if you click on the site name and go to the next table where the permit status is, there's a field named PA Municipalities.  That seems to be correct most of the time.  I seem to remember that there is an obscure DEP requirement that each well have a mailing address.  Maybe they just make something up.
Thanks very much for your help

Just saw last week DEP approved a 5H well at the Johnson Rd site and East/Shell just applied for a 2H well at the same site as well..............so far
