At the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011, there was a joint effort group lease in several Western Pa. counties. Does anyone know how this ended?

It's not happenning.  I heard today that there is approximately 1 million acres up for sale by various groups in PA, and no one is showing any real interest.
What did Jonathan R. Koerth, Esq reply three hours ago? It's not showing up in the blog.

I was curious about what Atty. Koerth had to say too!!

At any rate, I believe this deal is falling through. I think smaller groups are more marketable in todays environment.

Bump again - any new word on the street?

Not sounding stupid here (well maybe I am and don't know it), but what does this "Bump" mean that is in your entry?

Anyways, still no word on this end about the sale either.  I did hear from an MDS "source" that they are buying all new equipment and getting into a huge fleet of heavy equipment not only to do gas wells but to also work construction on shopping plazas and such.....  So, the only thing we can hope for here is that they know something we don't and are spending the money they are going to make on the sale already.  However, they could just be spending money they already have in the bank as well.  I am sure they have enough to do so.

'BUMP" puts the forum back at the top of forum discussions on the main page, and not lost on pages below.
ah.......yea .... Can't wait to see the "major update". Something like.."we have a buyer but we need everyone to sign an extension granting us more time".

Bid submission was closed Sept 8th and still no word if it sold. Doesnt look good.

Mike,

I am a "plan ahead" type of guy -should I plan on taking my grandchildren to Disney World next year (something they have longed for) OR  a "half-day"  trip to Kennywood!!

Take'm to Dairy Queen to be safe...............

It is my understanding that the leases were split into 6 regions to make them more desirable to companies. Giving them the option to stay in a certain "region" of interest thus preventing the scenario Tommy D mentioned.

Having said that, a lot of people jumped on this band wagon with small parcels adding to the usless leases that would be required to be purchased. This is why the summer deadline was not met. The buyer wantedt to cherry pick the most desirable leases and get rid of the rest.

I will be very suprised and pleased if this goes through. But a trip to DQ is about the only thing I'd plan right now.  I guess Kenny wood would be ok too.

I guess all we can do is "hope" for some "change" now............
