I updated the maps with current ODNR data. I also seperated the map into 3 files - the large file did not correctly download as a kmz file. To open all three files at once, open the first file then the second and then the third file, all three areas will appear in google map directory list. Select the counties or townships you want to see. See above for more information.

Philip, I wrote a program the converts the data from the ODNR website database to Extensible Markup Language (XML) which Google Earth understands.  Now that I have a easy way to convert the data I plan on building maps that show the data from different perspectives and will provide updates on occasion.  I also plan on generating a map that shows the theoretical drainage area (like yours) but I need to figure out how to build a program to map an area from ODNR data.

I saw the Bradford PA map which gave me the idea to do this.  Thanks for the reply.

There is no data in the above gas map, can you reattach it or give me the thread, I have not seen this one.

Also Iam looking for the property coordinates saved as a delimited data file or database.  If available I'll add the code necessary to integrate this into the map.

Nice programming work, BICS.  How do you get into the raw ODNR database?  Theoretical drainage area could be useful I suppose, but the actual drilling unit plat would be much more useful, however that data is just not available in a digital form as far as I know.  We could request that they start doing it I suppose (adding to their workload), or volunteer to do it so that it is public information rather than just our own private mapping.

Dan, you can download the full database from the ODNR site, under the link/section "Production /RDBMS". 

I believe the actual drill unit is only available as an image and not available via coordinates.  If some folks want to work out drill unit lat's and lng's, I would include the data in the map build program.   If there is interest I'll do the first well to work out the process.

A big thanks to you, some real interesting data base. Could you by any chance load up the data of say Muskingum, Licking,and Franklin County? Thank goodness you didn't include my deer hunting tree stand! Lol

I was planning on posting central Ohio this past weekend but the output file size was too large (the GMS website download process corrupts large files) and I ran out of time, I'll rerun them and try to post this weekend... maybe I'll add deer sightings too.
