I am interested in knowing if there is a way to find out how many gas leases are being signed each month, preferably by county. I get monthly well permitting and drilling numbers from the DEP web site but wonder if there Is there an easy way (or any way) to do get leasing statistics.

Permalink Reply by Lynn Wigglesworth on January 13, 2012 at 3:37am I just did a search at Landex for SWEPI (Shell) just since the beginning of 2012. A Memorandum is usually a lease, and there have been 22 since the beginning of the year. Most are with municipalities, and I'm not sure what they are (leases or something else?). It would be nice to have a better way of knowing who is leasing what.
