notice's from Hilcorp...

Some of my neighbors in Pulaski have gotten a notice hung on their doors to get their water tested.  The notice is from Hilcorp...hopefully good news for all.  Finally some activity from Hilcorp.

Hopefully it reads as good neighbors we request that our representative be allowed to take samples of your water before we commence drilling operations. Hilcorp will also pay for your own water testing by allowing a Hilcorp representative observe the samples being taken at the same time he takes samples from the same scource. You supply the address to a reputable water testing company of your choice, we will supply the Paid FedX postage and will coordinate pick up by Fedx at the same time of sampling.  We will also request a copy of your own test results and in return you will receive the results from or lab. Thank you for your cooperation.

I heard they were going to do a well in the Pulaski area. Don't know why you would say "finally as they just leased properties starting five months ago.  It takes a lot of time to consolidate properties, do the geology, do the legal work and meet environmental requirements, line up all the subs, the suppliers, line up mid-stream players, andmore.

Remember they have never worked anywhere this far east and are starting from scratch here.

Hoping they do at least a couple more this year. Probably in different areas to test the Utica and find the sweet spots.

I agree with Jim.....That was fast.

I assume these folks have been notified of being included in a unit?

Anyone wish to share how large of a unit?

Glenn, I know lots of folks that had their water tested for free with CHK and are NOT in a unit. However they are right next door to the unit boundary....which means they will be drilling them someday in the future.

Many companies now test water wells out to 2500' even though they are not required to.  A major motivation for this is to protect themselves from someone that has had bad water prior to drilling trying to claim it was their fault after a well is drilled.

I don't know what Hilcorp's SOP is but I am sure they will be drilling in the area or they wouldn't be testing.

It would be interesting to know just what they are testing for and how complete the tests are.

My point was with a land owner getting a test from his own testing source and the driller getting the result as well it would be dang near impossible to say the drillers test was faulty.
