Today Carrizo Oil & Gas announced that it is entering the Utica Shale Play by way of a Joint Venture with Avista Capital Partners. There are 15,000 acres involved and Carrizo is paying $1,500 per acre for ONLY 10% interest. You do the math. What would the value per acre be for 100% interest?

Permalink Reply by Nelson Roe on February 1, 2012 at 5:46pm Looks like there have been some entries removed from the list... I wonder why? Gulfport is no longer showing on there... The Guernsey co. section has shrank & so has Noble. I thought initially maybe it was some of the older permits falling off, but Gulfport was permitted fairly recently... Any thoughts?
Permalink Reply by Jon Henderson on February 4, 2012 at 12:50pm I noticed that today also. I hadn't looked at the ODNR for several weeks and I was surprised by all the missing entries. I hope they get this thing working well, I would like to stay up with the activity.
By the way, has anyone else driven by St. Clairesville and seen the Well that is west of there? It had a massive flame burning on it about 2 weeks ago. Is it a Horizontal?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
