Were any of you in attendance at the meeting with KWGD on Monday at the PLCC. I was there and was totally surprised by the number of people in attendance. What were your thoughts about the meeting? I found it to be very informative.

As I sat with my grand daughter I told her we had to do a Vulcan Mind Meld ( I made that up) to will the Fed Ex guy to stop here. Two things happened. #1,The Fed Ex guy stopped and delivered , THANK YOU LORD ! and #2 (literally) I noticed a very pungent odor coming from the diaper area, thus keeping me grounded and aware of whats important !! Diaper first, call wife second.  Again, thanks to all for the wishes and prayers for my grand daughter and believe me, I am praying for all of you.

                                                              Mick

Congratulations

I am not even leased yet but Mickey, I hope I can be as happy as you are to today. My congratulations! I heard everyone was eating Cheerios this morning in the area lol

Billy, I hope you are as well ! My views on life are a bit different. I am not a church going guy, But I believe in God, I am sometimes annoyed at simple things that shouldn't annoy me, but I have learned to catch myself, most time at least !

The big difference, in my case anyway, is being born and raised in Cleveland and employed as a Cleveland Cop for 20 years. Our move to Guernsey County only heightened my appreciation of the area and the people.  Handshakes are still used in deals, neighbors still look out for each other, and are respected . All you folks I've met and learned from on this web site.  I know it's not heaven, and there are bad guys here too,  but it's pretty close. Our final move to Guernsey County is still a few weeks away .

My thing now is to do the pay it forward thing. A new washer for someone, clothes, food, a car repair for a single mom, something. And I'm good to go !!

We see enough crime and injustice in the world. Let's do a little to try and offset that.

Going back to the grand daughter and do some more therapy. Works just as much for me as it does her !!

And I'm all for Cheerio's !!

Mickey,  Congratulations -- I lived in Cleveland also and the winters were a little on the chilly side.  Bought 40 acres almost 40 yrs ago in S.E. Ohio.  Recall an earlier post yours - caution - there are BAD GUY PREDATORS out there.  Those are wise words indeed?  God Bless sincerely Mema and Grampy

Very wise words !! I still do some consulting here in the Cleveland area regarding personal awareness / safety . It (personal attacks/robbery ) happens more and more, but the dirtbags tend to stay away from areas where they know residents arm themselves :).  I admit I do let my guard down when I stay out there in the styx, but I stay armed, regardless. As they say, better to be judged by twelve than carried by six !!

Mickey, I want to say congrats to you and others who received their bonus from Gulfport Energy. Good news for Guernsey County area. Our group is waiting on payment to start coming from Shell Oil (SWEPI). This will help so many people in our area.

Thanks Jeanette,

And thank you for helping me with all my questions. Even though I didn't sign with your group, my neighbor and sister and brother in law did. I felt very comfortable with your answers and sent them to you, and you followed through for them. When I signed at Salt Fork, I got to see the folks who have owned here for generations. To see the looks on there faces as they left with a new found hope for the future, that was cool !

Gulfport Energy Corporation

The Utica has the potential to make a significant impact on Gulfport within a short period of time. Gulfport invested $118.2 million in the Utica during 2011. It has 125,000 gross acres (62,500 net acres) with five-year terms and five-year options. IT has closed on 85% of the acreage with the balance awaiting title clearances etc. Gulfport has five Utica permits filed representing the first five wells to be drilled - two will be in Harrison County, one in Guernsey County and two in Belmont County. The first well is in Harrison County and the drill rig is in position and the well has been spud. Gulfport will add a second drilling rig as soon as April. Gulfport has over 30 locations in various stages of permitting. It plans on using "super pads" which will allow multiple laterals from one pad. Gulfport says there are 18 horizontal wells currently drilling in the Utica. We can expect an announcement (letter of intent) shortly on Gulfport's selection of the midstream partner in the Utica. The midstream partner is important because maximizing the value of the natural gas and liquids will be critical. The more it learns about the Utica play the more enthusiastic about the play it becomes. We should see the results of 20 gross wells this year in the Utica from Gulfport. The initial well spud is in southern Harrison County to be followed by another in Harrison County, then it will move to Belmont County and then to Guernsey County. As we said it is working on 30 locations. The plan is to drill north to south and east to west to delineate acreage this year. In 2013 the plan is to drill 50 wells and then in 2014 it plans to drill 70 wells just to hold acreage. It does not expect permitting to be a problem in Ohio, as it is still possible to walk a permit through in one week even though the state is swamped with Utica applications. Gulfport expects about $7 million per Utica Shale well depending on the length of the laterals and the depth. Utica production for Gulfport will be back-loaded this year but should start in the 3rd quarter and accelerate in the 4th quarter.

Can anyone who got a Gulfport lease through KWGD supply me with a copy of the lease/addendum? Gulfport is approaching landowners through a land agent and the lease they are offering leaves a bunch to be desired. I'd like to have some terms to counter offer that I know are already acceptable to Gulfport.
