water testing and what it means?

Does anyone out there know if Chesapeake only tests the water within the drilling and producton units or do they just test the area near a well? We sit on a close edge of a potential unit and have received a letter from them regarding water testing. Is that usually a precursor thatbwe will be included or should I not get my hops up? Thanks!

Im about 3500 feet from where a well was permitted but never yet drilled. They tested my water a couple years ago. I wouldn't get my hopes up

THe water testers who came by my place were testing 4000 feet from the wellhead.  Given the layout of the propsed well, I would not be in the unit as I'm 4000 feet due west.

The Water testing radius goes much further East and West than the Laterals ever will. So, while you may be in the Water Testing Radius for that Pad you may or may not be in any of the Production Units for that Pad.
