Columbiana County:  Neighbor with 3 acres and surrounded by thousands of fully leased land, had a landman knock on his door saying he's holding up a pad and offerd 3 grand per acre.  I said he would be dumb to take that.  Landman lie but to say you are holding up a pad should make him worth more, not less.  Never pulled out the "we will go around you card"  Dumb landman.  What he did do was throw out numbers of how much in royalties he would get a month.  It was a fancy car payment price. If the pad is true I don't want him holding me up but I also want him to get a fair deal since he deserves what we got if not more.  Another case of a landman trying to take advantage of an older person!

The $5,800 in Columbiana is no longer being offered. As of Friday CHK's new price was $4,000. Curious that they're getting cheap now that they have nearly the whole county leased. I can't imagine why they would drop the price and stir up some ire simply to save what, in the grand scheme of things, is not a lot of money.
