I do not know if its been permitted yet, but I was driving on Lusk Lock/Low road today and saw markers along the road indicating road enhancement like I have seen where they have enhanced the road for truck traffic to a well site. Further investigation revealed a pad laid out and marked on the property to the north of Low Road owned by Jay Chamberlain, so I assume it will bear that name. Anyone hear anything about a well for that location? Certainly looks like Elkrun is a high focus area with all the wells planned here.

Permalink Reply by Inchworm antenna on March 19, 2012 at 4:28pm The well pad will be outside the storage field. If it goes SE it will encompass the Rogers sale. Chamberlains have known for over a month now that they were getting a well. Congrats :)

Permalink Reply by dr j on March 19, 2012 at 5:19pm Yes sir. It's probably less than a couple thousand feet outside the border much like the Reed and Morris Wells.
Permalink Reply by Linda Charles on March 20, 2012 at 12:40am What about the Ward well.....is it in the storage field? If not, then we are seeing a strong trend....
I figured Chamberlain would get a well as they seemed very favorable...is their lease an older one like we are seeing in a lot of the wells being laid out? The Baers stand to be a big part of the PU as they own a lot of ground...not just the sale but also accross the street too.
Permalink Reply by dr j on March 20, 2012 at 3:10am Hi Linda,
The Ward well is just outside the field also- maybe 4000 ft or so. There is either active interest in the storage field area itself or there is a nice sweet spot running down through the eastern edge, I am guessing a bit of both. Quite a few properties very near the Chamberlain site are dealing with the old storage field lease issues, some very sizable parcels. Working hard to resolve these issues soon - if things do not go well for landowners some of those old leases only allow for $200 per year for any gases produced from the property.

Permalink Reply by Linda Charles on May 16, 2012 at 1:06am Update.....road paved and they are working on the ditches. The pad appears finished and fenced.
Anyone heard of any updates on this well? I'm smack in the middle between this and the Wallace well, which looks to be drilled (rig offsite now) and ready for fracking.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
