I have. They are pretty big.

They are the Company who bought the deep right from Cobra resources last year.

They are a publicly traded Energy Co. and have expertise in the Shale drilling arena.

Cobra Resources really took the landowners to the woodshed. They leased all this land for almost nothing a couple years ago and now sold the leases to Carrizo. No wonder nobody trust the oil companies.

"Nobody trust the oil companies"? Maybe its Cobra you shouldn't trust....not the entire Oil industry. Your type of generalization should then apply to all landowners, Black people , Hispanics, polititians and used car salemen. My dealings with the oil companies have always been tough...... but fair. People need to take personal responsibilty for their own descision instead of blaming an entire industry.

Fair is in the eye of the beholder. Noone explained to the landowners 4-5 years ago what type of exploration these leases were for. In fact, we were lead to believe it was just some more "shallow" type drilling. You really think farmers "like my parents" would have signed for jack sh%t had they known not the quality, but the type of eploring and formations these leases were for? More likely not.

No one could have explained 4-5 years ago what type of exploring was going to happen in Mercer County, they did not know themselves in fact it hasn't even taken place yet.  No one had that crystal ball, everyone wants to believe that the oil companies knew what was going to happen in the future, do you think the oil companies knew that the price of natural gas would go from $13.00 per thousand cubic foot down to $2.00, I doubt it.  If the area turns out to be good than royalties will more than compensate your parents in the future. Hindsight is 20/20. If you feel they were misled than talk to Cobra....when people like PA Landowner makes the statement "noboby trust the Oil Companies", he is blaming every oil company for his decision...that to me is a lack of personal responsibility.

P. S. If you believe that Carrizio might drill your parents farm, I bet they make some type of well location compensation to them inspite of the Cobra lease terms

They are starting the pad at the corner of Stateline and 358 today.

They were bought by Halcon I heard?
