Heard Consol is having an informational meeting for Mahoning County landowners on Thursday at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. I know Consol already has some leases in Mahoning and Portage Counties but the large majority of their holdings are in Harrison and Jefferson counties I believe. Can anyone share their experiences, recently or in the past ( as I think many of the leases they already hold are not recent)?
Thanks,
J

Permalink Reply by JR on May 7, 2012 at 3:33am Consol owns our HBP lease from way back so we are just now starting to deal with them in Tuscarawas Co. To date, they have been very nice and fairly responsive as far as timely responses to questions go. Neighbors have said they are very fair and respectful to deal with. Our attorney has told me they are much better to work with than "others". Purely my observation, they seem to move slowly and have been very quiet about results for a well that is drilled and located 5 miles from our property. Rumors about the well have taken on a life of their own, but zero details from Consol themselves. All in all, I'd say I'm happy to be in business with them and feel that we will be treated fairly and our property will be respected.

Consol has really not done much to this point in this area, they just don't have acreage and haven't been a presence here yet but several weeks ago they announced they were opening their regional office in Leetonia- in Columbiana County, an area in which they hold no acreage to this point. Leetonia is close to Mahoning County and "on the way " Pittsburgh and their major holdings in the southern counties. Seems like they are ramping up.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
