Hello all,
I sent a message to the County group last week but thought perhaps some that may read here are not signed up to received the messages. I am trying to include anyone who has an interest/concern regarding this storage field.
I have learned quite a lot in the last week or so- more than I can detail in a post. Bottom line- if you have property involved with the Brinker field I would like to hear from you. I am especially interested in those who were told they could not lease. I am also interested in hearing anyone's experience. Many, many landowners on the field have successfully leased. But there are a handful that have been turned down although the reasons are not always clear cut. It may be based on individual leases but often it's other factors that are not necessarily an impediment. Bear in mind that someone is going to have control of your deep rights, now is the time to take control if you are able.
My own lease situation sparked my interest and lead me down a path that indicates there are a few others out there with the same issues.

Joe,
It should be Columbia Gas Transmission originally. Although I am becoming very familiar with some of the leases and the "chain of custody" of the rights, I am not sure if I can help you or not. Send me a private message with the township/section and acreage and I can try to figure it out. Also the name the lease would be recorded under. I have noticed patterns like you are talking about and while some have been now assigned to Chesapeake, some have not.
I know a few in your situation who are filing affidavits of non-development. Might be something to look into.
I will tell based on the local activity, I can't imagine there will not be some drilling in most areas at some point. Just when you think the frenzy has hit it's peak, the roller coaster starts climbing another hill.
I'm not involved in the situation you are posting about but the link I've attached may be of interest to you.

Columbia Gas had pre-existing leases for these properties to store gas in underground tanks. The plaintiff claims these leases have since expired due to lack of activity on the property, which would allow them to enter into new leases for significantly more money ..."

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
