Does anyone have any information about the Stocker well they will be drilling in Gnadenhutten?
I am told they are drilling on a very hot spot and are paying $4000 per acre and 20% gross royalities. Starting discussion to be kept up to date.

Gnadenhutten is sort of on the corner Clay, Warwick and Rush township. So I searched the county engineers record and the only thing that even sounded close was SCHUPP CATHERINE 25.
They, Sierra Buckeye, is going to put the pad in the northwest corner of Rush and run the laterals under the east half of Gnadenhutten and to the east of Gnadenhutten. The big guys signed a month ago and the mayor called for a special meeting for the half of the town effected. The deal will include the small city lots as well. Will be kind of a frenzy getting all the little people signed. I signed on Friday but won't see anything for 6 months. Half the people in Gnadenhutten are happy and the other half not so because they were not included. Really a great deal for the small lots in town and I understand we have the Stocker family to thank for being included.
Sierra Buckeye still has to follow all the procedures. They have to sign all those little lots THEN they have to file all the permits (which includes all the pre-drill water testing THEN they can do site prep and start drilling. Where is the permit? It may be quite a while before any drilling starts. It will be six months before you see the royalty money while they make sure you really do have the mineral rights to sell them. Best of luck to you folks.

I also see that Barnesville just signed for $5500 plus 20%.
I know Eclipse has offered $5500 in Tusc.
On Tuesday 4 trucks were passing through Gnadenhutten headed southwest out past Edwards Ridge Road doing seismic testing. They had many miles of wire strung out. They must have been blasting as the house was shaking every so often while the trucks were out front on the street.
Paul,
Is Eclipse a gas company that is new in Tusc. if so do you have information on them as I still hve no lease on my 3.5 acres on Hummel valey rd. on the south side of New philadelphia and would like to secure a lease and Royalty %.
Gary,
I don't belive they are leasing down that way...that is CHK and possibly Sierra territory.
But here is a contact for Eclipse:

I sure was excited when I signed for $4000 per acre but now I see Ohio is rated 5th in the country paying as high as $8200 per acre.
Greenwood Resources called Thursday and said they were bringing the signing bonus check on Friday. That's two months earlier than they have to.
I talked to Robert Sabris at Sierra, 713-365-6110, this morning. They plan to go very slow. Do not want to spend 10 million for a well when the 3 wells in Tuscarawas County have not been that great. They want to find out what others are getting but information is not shared very well. I sent an e-mail to them and he responded a few days later. Call him if you want to learn more,
Got a letter from Sierra Buckeye today. They are letting their lease in the Gnadenhutten area expire as they could not find a partner to drill with therefore, could not economically justify developing the lease. They paid $4000 per acre for the lease and now letting it expire

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
