I've heard of no offers since around May. Although I'm sure they have made some offers for areas needed to fill in a unit(s) for drilling. Landmen will tell you just about anything at times... a neighbor of mine was told by a landman that if his lease expires this Jan. they, being Chesapeake, would be offering $1500 or less per acre. Of course this may be just BS, but it may be true. I don't think CHK is in the Economy Boro area though. It would be wise for your friend to visit some neighbors near and far to see if they are leased and with who. If one company is prevalent in that area, which is usually the case, tell your friend to talk to that company....it will be their best shot. Also tell them all the things that we preach here on GMS before they sign anything!!!

There is a company leasing in Economy and New Sewickley. Northeast Natural Resource Advisory Board is the name I heard on the radio. A friend of mine said they are signing at 3000 an acre.
