You could search here https://apps.dep.wv.gov/oog/permitsearch_new.cfm
To see leasing, go here https://www.uslandrecords.com/wvlr/
then select Ritchie, set date range to recent, and type in the companies. Antero wins here, then EQT and Chesapeake.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on November 15, 2012 at 5:56pm According to the November 1st issue of the Marietta Times of Marietta,Ohio Magnum Hunter"s division Triad Hunter purchased the company Virco which had 19000 acres in Ritchie County. No details on price paid for the acreage. In some of Magnum Hunter's online press releases they talk about joint ventures in drilling wells with Stone Energy in Wetzel County, possibly that could happen in Ritchie Co, also, but that's just my opinion.
Permalink Reply by Martha Lee Vincent on January 28, 2013 at 6:24am I read this about Triad Hunter also, 2800./acre. Afriend was offered 1500/acre by Antero. Another friend was offered 200./Antero. So a big difference in offers. Just depends on what you are willing to take. So beware. The leases by Antero were not landowner friendly either, so be sure to contact a KNOWLEDABLE attorney.
