It seems as though I have gone from receiving semi-regular calls on my small tract to me wondering if I paid my phone bill. Is anyone getting actively pursued at the moment? If so, who is currently knocking on doors and more importantly, who is actively paying? I am guessing I will likely have to wait until the next wave when gas prices pick up a bit.

Same here. I don't know where you're at, but in the 555 corridor and down into clearfield county, they're supposed to be doing 3d seismic testing later this winter. Maybe after they get that data.
As far as seismic goes, it seems like they are doing that everywhere. I don't get too excited about seeing the trucks or lines at this point anymore.
This is true. The novelty has worn off. I know they did one seismic survey a year or so back along 555, and now they want to do 3d testing in the same area. I don't know if that means anything. I'm not a geologist or in the o and g business, so I really can't say.
Hello Brad! Quiet in Elk County right now...We finally received our letter of release from BLX/SNYDER BROTHERS on January 15th! They apparently had little success in selling their non- HBP leases in the aggregation deal...no big surprise! No more ,"FLIPPERS" for us. I had an offer for $2,750./ACRE and 17% Royalty without deductions and 5 year term. I told them we would sign if they could guarantee payment in 90 days...they could not, and in fact, wanted a six-month lease...end of that discussion. Stay in touch...
Keep plugging Dan, call me to discuss a group again...Mike
Hello Mike! I do plan on re-organizing a group again ...I will call you next week. I have a new contact that MAY be the real deal...time will tell. I will give you a call when I know more Mike. Stay in touch and take care!
Keep me in the loop. I have about 10 acres in elk twp. Live out of the area. Any info appreciated.
Today I received another offer from a, "FLIPPER". $2,700./ACRE (minus 9% =$2,457./ACRE ) and 17% ( minus 1% Royalty = 16% ) for a five year term. They have no buyer...just like Tri-State had no buyer in Elk County. (And Snyder and BLX for that matter) I will keep plugging away...I have spoken with some private equity groups...time will tell...in the meantime...let's all keep in touch...Take care and have a great day!!!
Do you hear they did some seismic testing south of St. Marys? Looking at Seneca's 10k this appears to be their focus area now.
Yes, they did 3d seismic testing last summer and fall, in that area you spoke of. The 555 corridor. I haven't heard anything more of it, though.
Do you own acres there? I spoke to Seneca Resources on Wednesday and they were concern I was selling my surface property.I have 126 acres that is not developed yet.
Hello Brad...Happy New Year! Please call me @ (312)659-4481...I lost your number and would like to catch up a little.
@ James...are selling all 126 acres?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
