I'm leased through Chesapeake, but it seems all the activity in my area is happening through Hilcorp.  What happens with my lease?  Will I be left out of a unit?  Or will Hilcorp just buy my lease from Chesapeake.  I'm sure this is a question many of us are wondering.  I'm in extreme Eastern Springfield Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.

I see where a couple of my neighbors' leases got assigned to "Total".  Is that just a CHK JV? We all signed the same lease at the same time, and half of my neighbors got moved to Total, the remainder of us are with CHK...

Mahoning is part of the Total JV, so I'm not sure what the contract allows them to do or not do.  I do know that if Total is footing 75% of the drilling cost they'd be crazy not to exploit that eventually.

Marcus,

My lease along with many of the leases in my township have been assigned to Total after initially signing with CHK. Do you think this is good news? I am only two years into my lease and so are most of my neighbors. I am in Stark County

That means you're part of the original JV.  Whether that's good news or not is above my pay grade.

Here's the link to the columbiana records for anyone looking for it.

Fang F Fang, Our lease is with Hilcorpe. Our neighbor is with Chesapeake and they are doing seismic testing down our neighbors yard as we speak. I know alot of our street signed with Hilcorpe so I'm quite curious who will be doing the flipping. I'm told Hilcorpe for sure is who will be drilling in our area.

Fang, We are in New Middletown OH.  We have property on Struthers, Sycamore and Main. All leased.
