Burdick; 479,965 Mcf in 95 days, no condensate, no oil

 

Despite rumors otherwise, looks like we have dry gas for the Utica in the area that CHK has been drilling in Beaver County. For other formations or other areas of the county, only time will tell. The Noss well that Range drilled in Hanover Township is reporting condensate, but it has not been connected to pipeline.

I wouldn't have expected anything different.  However, most of Beaver County is in the super-rich area for the Marcellus and Upper Devonian translating to condensate and NGL's.  Therefore, 4000' deeper, the Utica Shale has much higher temperatures and cooked much more; hence, dry gas.  You can't have liquids in every shale formation.  But, we are lucky to have several economic shales in our stacked play.

Why has Range reported 2259 bbl's of condensate in 16 days from 2 different Noss wells if they are not yet producing?

Right Todd, but the relative age of the formation comes into play too. Is our play in the Utica really over mature? Were no wet indicators in flowback observed at other sites recently drilled in BC?

Hi Allen,

There must be some reason that the operators are drilling the Utica in Beaver County.  There's still probably ethane with the dry gas for the proposed cracker. 

I don't know the answers to your questions.  That dry gas, however, will be liquefied and shipped to Europe via Philly for premium pricing through the Mariner East pipeline in the near future.  Per McClendon, the amount of dry gas in our area within the Utica competes with the Marcellus of NE PA.

When anyone receives their check from our area, check the end of the line for each month. It will list the btu's of the stream being sold. Anything over 1000 means there are at least some liquids in the mix from what i've come to understand.

Remember there are a few more areas of interest below our feet besides the Utica.

Hello Todd Smith, sounds like you are a local landowner like myself. Any information available on the Noss well as in unitization acreage, or pipeline completion.

I'll post under the Noss discussion for ya!  However, I do not have much info on the ground around the Noss wells... I own property about 5 miles west of the Noss unit.

Hi Todd, Just joined the group today! thanks for the nice reply. I am located within a mile of McMichaels and less than that to the Noss well. I am leased with RR but not in any unit as we speak.
