When companies leased mineral rights in PA State Forest and Game Lands, did those companies lease only the Marcellus, or did they also lease the shales below?
Very good question. Can't believe there have been no reponses yet...
We have land near state land in Lycoming and Clinton Counties in PA our lease is not strata specific. Not saying that the state leases are or are not.
One of those other things you wish you would have thought about before signing...
Oh well it is what it is!!
They will eventually pull gas out of everywhere between the surface and the earths core.
PA State Game Lands have been leased for very many years.
Are you asking about a lease signed on a piece of State Game land in 1953?
I know that for a fact that in 1963, some PA State Game Land was leased from Surface to the Center of the Earth with royalties specified at $100/producing well/years ... regardless of the amount produced.
Are you asking about a lease signed on a piece of State Game land in 1973?
Are you asking about a lease signed on a piece of State Game land in 1993?
Or are you asking about a lease signed on a piece of State Game land in 2013?
This would have been a moving target.
The pertinent question would be what are the terms of current leases negotiated today on PA State Game Land.
Perhaps you should pose that question directly to the PA Game Commission, and post the results of you enquiry here.
All IMHO,

Not familiar with all the strata names, but a specific reference to a "Rhinestreet Formation" is made in defining whether a well is considered deep or shallow. No other language I can see that limits development of any depth or specific formation, either Marcellus or Utica.
Hope you find this useful....

But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
